Dr. Bowen Du

Dr. Bowen Du is a Scientist in the Chemistry Department who specializes in applying mass spectrometry techniques to investigate the occurrence and fate of organic contaminants in aquatic systems. His research efforts focus on application of non-target chemical analysis in contaminant source tracking and the development of methodologies characterizing the occurrence and effects of contaminants of emerging concern in urbanized systems.

He received his Ph.D. in ecological, earth and environmental sciences from Baylor University in Texas, and his M.S. and B.S. in environmental science from Baylor University and China’s Northeast Forestry University, respectively. He joined SCCWRP in 2017.
